Zoom F8n Pro Field Recorder
My 32-bit float recorder and interface for TikTok Live and videos. Its high gain and low-noise preamps make it a strong match for dynamic mics.

I use the Zoom F8n Pro now for recording 32-bit float audio. I also use it as an audio interface for TikTok Live and for recording videos, so it handles both recording and live audio in my setup.
High gain for dynamic microphones
The high gain and low-noise preamps are another reason I like this recorder for dynamic microphones, including my RØDE PodMic.
Zoom specifies up to 75 dB of microphone input gain and equivalent input noise of −127 dBu or less, measured A-weighted at +75 dB gain with a 150 Ω input. That gives it plenty of gain for low-output dynamic microphones while keeping preamp noise low.
My USB-C connection
The recorder has a USB Mini-B port. I use these USB-C to Mini-USB adapters to connect it with my USB-C setup.
The USB connection carries data; it does not power the recorder. Use a data-capable cable and power the F8n Pro separately. Audio-interface formats depend on the selected mode and connected device; 32-bit float recording does not mean every livestream receives 32-bit float audio.
See the Zoom F8n Pro manual for connections, power, and audio-interface modes.
